U.S. Masters Swimmers at Tuolumne County Aquatics Masters (TCAM) are wrapping up their timed 1650-yard event this weekend. That's ONE MILE folks! I've been at the pool with my camera, and I can't begin to express to you in words just how inspiring it is to witness this annual event. Maybe this photo of 79-year-old Floyd and Coach Patti conveys the elation of completing such an impressive task.

I'm still nursing the torn biceps tendon in the shoulder (SLAP Lesion - Superior Labrum from Anterior to Posterior) so I decided to head to Paris. Why feel sorry for myself at home when I can do it with baguettes and cheese over here? I return to the U.S. and to the orthopaedist shortly and will report back in detail on shoulder injuries in swimmers-namely my own. My physical therapist thinks the only way to repair this is with surgery. Even my acupuncturist agrees. The acupuncture has helped with the inflammation, but it can't regenerate a torn tendon. We'll see what the doc says next week.
In the meantime, I'd love to share a few snaps of my trip...
