It’s a Good Day to Swim a Mile

Posted by tracyb on January 18, 2010 at 6:00 am

It’s the dreaded time of year at our pool – time for the annual 1650 free. This is a timed, 1650-yard freestyle swim, which is approximately 1 mile. We all swim more than a mile during our daily coached U.S. Masters workouts, but the fact that there are people there watching you, timing for you [...]

It Isn’t Always About the World Records

It’s also about proper rest and recovery… right? This photo was taken at the U.S. Masters Swimming Short Course Meters Championships in Walnut Creek this past fall. These properly rested swimmers, I believe, are from Tamalpais Aquatic Masters. (Note to self, next swim meet… take better notes!)

It’s Mornings Like These…

It’s mornings like these when one realizes, somehow, all will be okay. Sierra Sunrise, December 26, 2009   This photo was taken early this morning with my Canon G10 camera. The view from my back deck has never been more spectacular.

US Masters Swim Calendar

I am still alive. I plan to wrap up the Tuolumne County Masters Aquatics 2010 calendar today, and I will have a life again. In fact, after I toss this cantankerous, s-l-o-w Dell computer out the window, I will attend the Pacific Masters Swimming annual meeting / potluck at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek. Here [...]

Edit, Edit, Edit, Get Distracted, Edit

So, I’m in the process of editing thousands of images for this Tuolumne County Aquatics Masters (TCAM) calendar. I came across this image from the Pacific Masters Swimming 2009 Short Course Meters Championships. I don’t know who this is – he isn’t a teammate – but I dig the water flowing off his head. If [...]

How Do You Feel After a Particulary Hard Swim Workout?

Sometimes after I swim I feel like this…

Pumpkins Do Indeed Swim

Posted by tracyb on November 4, 2009 at 7:19 am

Sometimes daily deadlines and a horrible internet connection prevent me from having fun here on the blog. And by horrible internet connection, I mean this company. For those of you fortunate enough to live in an urban area where you have access to DSL and all sorts of high-speed and UNLIMITED internet – I so completely [...]

It’s Not Always About The Pool

Posted by tracyb on October 26, 2009 at 7:02 am

Sometimes it’s just not about the pool. This photo was taken while I was in Maine for business this past summer. I had the opportunity to swim with a few of the Maine Masters Swimmers at the Penobscot Bay (PenBay) YMCA.

Can You Lend Me a Hand?

I call this  "Can you lend me a hand?" but I think many of my witty chlorinated friends may have other ideas.

What Happens At A Swim Meet, Stays At A Swim Meet

Taken at the Pacific Masters Short Course Meters Championships last weekend, Heather Farm Park… I wonder if they’re married?
