USMS Lane Mate Causes Quandary

What do you do with a lane mate who, when she gets to the far end of the pool stops to catch her breath, and then proceeds to push off the wall just as you are about to make your turn? This said lane mate is a much slower swimmer than you are, and you’re sharing a lane with five people. She’s a sweet woman, keep your answers polite!

    You could just grab on her feet the whole way down the pool. She’d get the hint eventually. Or you could post about it on your blog and then tell her about your blog, and hope she puts 2 and 2 together.
    Just kidding, those would both be terrible ideas!

    Is this at your masters’ practice? You could just have a team/lane discussion about lane courtesy, without singling anyone out, and hope that she picks up on it. She may not be familiar with the etiquette of sharing lanes.
