USMS Pacific Masters Short Course Meters World Record

Congratulations U.S. Masters Swimmer Cokie Lepinski for setting a World Record in the 100 breaststroke at the Pacific Masters Short Course Meters Championships!!!  Here is what Cokie did in Walnut Creek:

  • 7 swims
  • 4 lifetime bests
  • 1 World Record*
  • 1 Pacific Masters record
  • 5 First places
  • 2 Second places (I’m pretty sure the woman who beat her in at least one of these races was much, much younger)
  • Her new team, Marin Pirates Masters, with only 3 swimmers -  placed 18th out of 43 teams

How does Cokie feel about all of this? To quote her Facebook status, “OMG 10,000 times… Coaching is awesome!”

Indeed Cokie – You are awesome!

*Update – Cokie has notified me that apparently the software at Walnut Creek was outdated. She has been informed that her World record is "only" a National record in the 100 Breast. Still a wonderful accomplishment worth celebrating!

Apparently this may be Nancy Ridout masquerading as Cokie :0)
